An online school is a great option for people who are constantly on-the-go, who have full-time jobs, or who have families to take care of. But, as it turns out, it’s also an excellent option for celebrities who are looking to get a degree! Not only are they able to go to school while continuing their careers, but they can do so privately.
Here are a handful of celebrities who’ve done online college:
Steven Spielberg actually dropped out of California State University in 1968 to focus on his film career. But, more than 30 years later, Spielberg was able to graduate from California State with a BA in Film Production and Electronic Arts thanks to online classes. In fact, the school actually accepted his film Schindler’s List in place of a 12-minute short film required to complete his degree.
The Desperate Housewives star got a Master’s in Psychology after taking online courses through Antioch University. She actually took classes while she was working on shows such as Seinfeld and Melrose Place and graduated in 2003.
The basketball star dropped out of Louisiana State University to pursue a career in the NBA, but he always promised his mother he’d get his degree. He kept his promise and got his college degree after taking online courses through LSU in 2000. He then got his MBA through online courses at the University of Phoenix in 2005.
The lead role of Disney’s Lizzie McGuire took online courses at Harvard University’s extension school. She took the classes along with her sister Haylie Duff. She raved about the online course format on her blog. She was primarily at her Los Angeles home while completing her Harvard courses.
